I'm a Brazilian-born writer and editorial director.
Speaking four languages and passionate about the world, I spent the early days of my career in the non-profit sector, becoming immersed in contemporary efforts towards social change. If you ever wonder what a Political Science degree does for you, it is this: I gained a humanitarian perspective that stayed with me long after I transitioned into travel writing, helping me become a more down-to-earth and culturally-aware writer. I believe that the main benefit of travel is to educate through pleasure, and that this cultural education holds the key to a more holistic society.
As an editorial director, I require the same level of honesty and integrity to brand vision, language and style. I have been based for most of my career between NYC and LA, providing editorial direction and creative writing for innovative companies breaking new services into the travel industry.
I have spent most of my days in the past 10 years building creative and editorial strategies for high-speed start-ups, traveling extensively all over the world, and writing for some of my favorite publications. Some say I've honed a versatility and uncanny ability to stay focused while on the road. The truth is, I'm a self-starter. I now oversee multiple departments such as creative production, social media management and editorial strategy for my clients.
Of course I still publish articles independently when I find the time. You can read some of them here on this site or in print at Monocle, Uproxx, Passion Passport, and Condé Nast Traveller UK. I also write poetry, but don't tell anyone.
